Two ¼ inch tapes. These were sources for the NBC Valentine Greeting. One tape is McLaren’s original (and odd) choice Happy Birthday, but we (McLaren and McWilliams) had to drop that idea when we discovered the cost of rights, something like $38,000. So we opted for the material on the second ¼ inch tape – Monday Struggle which we made from a 78 RPM disc that Norman had at home. We paid $1,000 for the rights, I (Don McWilliams) think.
