FI13274.008 This is the colour footage – a negative – from August 1949 when all the animators went to the back of the building to be animated by McLaren. This footage was shot by a visiting American called Horowitz. We see him briefly at a camera. The roll is in two halves. In the first half, we see Horowitz’s tourist shots of Ottawa. The second half is his visit to the NFB. One sees Janet Preston, Bob Anderson, Norman McLaren, Roman Kroitor, Wolf Koenig, Grant Munro, Sydney Goldsmith, Colin Low, Bob Verrall, etc. 165 feet. Jane Gutteridge was working in the NFB New York office in the 1980s. When she was moving back to Canada NFB, she found a film can tucked behind some books.
